So what *is* Equality Camp anyway?

November 26, 2008 · 1 Comment

What, you may ask, is EqualityCamp? Will we sit around a campfire sharing s’mores with all?

Well, s’mores are possible but it’s unlikely we’ll have a fire, unless you count fanning the flames of activism surrounding the rapidly emerging marriage equality movement.

For those reading this who may not be familiar with the whole concept of a “BarCamp”, perhaps best to let Wikipedia do the explaining. Except instead of focusing on a technology-related issue, we intend to apply technology – and the brains behind technology – to the very grave discrimination issue that emerged from the November 4, 2008 election.

But since pictures are worth a thousand words, we figured that a video primer on what this event is about might help.

So take a peek, and then get yourself to the Eventbrite site and register!

We’re pretty excited about what can come about the camp. The main goal is to get all of the people we can doing awesome things to change hearts and minds about marriage equality and have them discuss how we can help one another out…maybe even come up with some cool projects that I can sink my teeth into.
